About
As a qualified counsellor, I offer a safe, warm and supportive environment where you can talk openly about whatever may be troubling you. Based in Wisbech, on the border of Cambridgeshire and Norfolk, I offer counselling in person, by telephone and online.
I believe that having the space to be heard, listened to and understood can make a significant difference. Life can sometimes feel difficult to make sense of, particularly when we are trying to manage things on our own. Counselling offers an opportunity to slow down, make sense of what you are experiencing and explore things at your own pace, without judgement.
My approach is person-centred and integrative. This means that I draw on different therapeutic approaches according to what feels most helpful for you, rather than expecting you to fit into a particular way of working. At the heart of my practice is the therapeutic relationship we develop together — built on trust, honesty, respect and acceptance.
I see counselling as a collaborative process. I won’t tell you what you should do or try to provide all the answers. Instead, I aim to offer a space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences with someone who will listen carefully and without judgement. Sometimes, simply having the opportunity to say things out loud can help us see ourselves and our circumstances differently.
Counselling can be helpful for many different reasons. You may be experiencing anxiety, low mood, stress, loneliness or difficulties in relationships. You may be dealing with a significant change in your life, or carrying experiences from the past that continue to affect you. Or perhaps you simply have a feeling that things aren’t quite right and would like some time and space to understand why.
There is no particular point at which someone has to seek counselling. You don’t need to be in crisis, and you don’t need to have everything worked out before you begin. Sometimes the first step is simply recognising that you would like someone to talk to.
I also believe that finding the right counsellor matters. You should feel comfortable enough to be yourself and to talk honestly about what is happening for you. My aim is to offer a genuine, compassionate and non-judgemental relationship in which you can feel heard and understood.
Alongside my private practice, I also provide counselling through a local organisation supporting people experiencing homelessness. This has given me the opportunity to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds and circumstances, and reinforces my belief that everyone deserves to be listened to with dignity and respect.
If you’re considering counselling but aren’t sure whether it’s right for you, you’re welcome to get in touch. We can talk about what you’re looking for and whether I might be the right counsellor for you.
